These pages represent things that interest me personally, and some things which I sometimes use for reference.
I am very interested in tracing my family tree. The Family History link contains the basic information on this family tree of the Verner / McDonald family. This is a ged2html translation of my present database. I only get to work on the database at infrequent occasions, so the site only gets updated at even more infrequent intervals.
I am also an keen bridge player. My wife and I used to play bridge together before we got married, and have continued to play (with varied success) over the years. Since retiring, I have had a lot more time for bridge, and have become active in the running of the Friday Duplicate Bridge Club in Pretoria. The Bridge pages are also a forum for this club, and is updated regularly with the results of club games.
The caravaning pages chronicle some of the many caravan trips that my wife and I have made over the years. My caravan album is fairly extensive, I have not time to write up each trip (and that would be boring away), but some of the more memorable trips are chronicled. These pages include a gallery from a variety of trips.
Although retired, I still do some ad-hoc consulting work, primarily in respect of Linux support. I have many years of Unix and then Linux experience, and have installed Linux based firewalls and other systems at various locations that I still maintain.
Finally, the gallery contains a variety of photo's and images taken over the years. Being a grandfather, I have no inhibitions about my “brag book” of photo's of the family.
